I’m not going to have time to take any pics today (which kinda sucks, I have an idea for GC Rochelle that I think could be pretty cool), so here are the last of the Flower Child Catrine pics.
Sidenote: This is officially my favorite Catrine. I think I’m just a sucker for wavy hair in a middle part. Plus she photographs beautifully. You basically have to go out of your way to get a bad shot of her.
Everything about her is perfect. The streaks of pink in her hair are so subtle and yet so effective. I just love her.
If you have a high-tolerance for the bizarre and beautiful, then I strongly suggest you get a hold of this film. It’s an amazing work of art.
Been quite a while since I saw this one. Will have to give it another look!
It’s definitely worth multiple viewings. What I love about it, apart from the sheer aesthetic pleasure it gives, is its utter strangeness. So many films about Ancient Rome are basically just modern Americans dressed up in togas. Satyricon feels authentically ancient and defamiliarising. It presents a world wholly other to the one we inhabit. I don’t know - when I watch it, I keep thinking, “YES! This is what it would have been like back in then.”
